In order to improve the flow of traffic on the A2 and accessibility from the Maastricht region, Maastricht Council and Limburg Ministry of Public Works decided to tunnel under the almost 2 kilometre section of the A2 between Europaplein and Geusselt.

By car

Maastricht is situated near to the A2 motorway, junction E25 (Amsterdam-Brussels) and A79 (Liège-Aachen-Cologne) and has good links to the European motorway system. The conference centre is directly located next to the E25/A2. Take the Randwyck / MECC/ AZM exit and follow signs for MECC or MECC Parking

Eurostar: from London Waterloo you can take the Eurostar to Brussels (2 hours).
In Brussels change to Liège - Maastricht. The total journey time is around 4 hours.

Thalys: from Paris to Brussels (1 hour and 20 minutes) or to Liège (3 hours).
